Infrastructure  :           Multimedia Laboratory, Drawing room, Audio Visual room. Edit room with all modern facilities.

Curriculum      :           Drawing, Communication Skills, Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, Printing & Publishing, Photography, Television Production, Advertising, Elements of film media Organization and Project.

Orientation      :           Teaching methodology is unique with Interactive sessions and Industry Oriented Approach on teaching; Emphasis on Activity based learning, Personal attention to every student during practical session, Industrial Visits and Educational trips, and Special workshops by eminent people from media industry.

Achievement   :           University Rank 2011 - 14 Batch : 7th Rank, 2012 - 15 Batch : 11th Rank & 2013 - 15 Batch : 1st, 2nd, 34th, 59th, 70th & 94th Rank.

Placement        :           SUN TV, AnandaVikatan& other Animation and publications companies.

MOU signed between MGC & DBIEM

It is a moment of pride and privilege for MGC to have the Professionals and Students from DON BOSCO INTUITION ENTERTAINERS MEDIA,Paris,France. Eight Students and Two Professors,Selasians ,Rev.Fr.John Paul  Swaminathan were welcomed by the Students of the Department of Visual Communication,NSS Volunteers,Secretary,Principal and Staff.

An MOU was signed between DBIEM and MGC for a ONE MONTH TWO WEEKS COURSE in France for the Visual Communication Students.

PROGRAMME OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT

 Date:  26/06/19

        Very first time, department of visual communication organized the Inaugural function on 26-06-2019. It started with welcome address in Malayalam by 2nd year student Dev and in Tamil it was done by 3rd year student Divya respectively. Special guests are Niranjan Ad film director, Nanda Cinematographer, along with a chief guest Dhaadi Balaji a renowned media personality accompanied the occasion. All the special invitees shared the expertise on their core field. Information shared by them was very much effective and provocative among Visual Communication students.

Our college secretary, Rev. Fr. Philip Pulipra, Principal Dr. Sivarajan, Vice Principal Ann Epzibah Niraja and staff members were part of the programme to welcome the media students to the college.

Visual communication department HOD, staffs and students honored all the guests who were a part of the occasion. Senior students of the department followed the theme that birds are given beautiful location to survive from the nest which showed that Fresher’s got into the right place and it will be a right platform.

Event got over with beautiful instrument musical performance by the department light music team and thank you note by the 2nd year student Vittal Ramanan.

 

On 28th August 2018, Impulse 2k18 bore the theme of 'Films'. Mr. Lokesh (Film Director), Mr. Kaasi Raman (Assistant Professor of English Department, M.G.C.), Mr. Arun (Media Celebrity) and Mr. Aravind (Media Celebrity) were judges of the events. The on-stage events included Variety Talent, Dance and Mime. Off stage events like Photography and debate were also conducted. The event saw the participation of various colleges like Sriram College of Engineering, SRM Arts College, AVC College, Gurunanak College of Arts & Science and Madras Christian College. The overall championship was bagged by Gurunanak College. Dr. Prakasham, Director, was the Chief Guest and Ms. Jeeva (a) Sneha, a transgender was also a guest at the event. She spoke to the students about her life experiences.

An Outdoor Photography Shoot was arranged for the second year students at RAW STUDIOZ, Vadapalani on 4th February 2019. The session also involved teachings on Indoor Lighting.
