9th ALUMNI REUNION – 2024 Alumni Reunion: Connect Collaborate Celebrate! There is nothing like returning to place that remains unchanged to find the way in which you yourself have altered. Mar Gregorios College of Art & Science Alumni Association organized a day to share, recollect and evoke a sense of togetherness. The 9th Alumni Reunion of Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science was held on 17th February 2024 in the College Premises between 4.00pm to 8.00pm. Around 1049 alumni registered through online registration. Nearly 500 of our alumni turned up for the meet. The meet aimed to provide a platform for alumni to reconnect with each other, network, and engage in fun-filled activities while challenging themselves and cheering their peers. Master of Ceremony were our alumni Mr.Arun Kumar & Ms.Kiruthika. The meet commenced with the lighting of lamp by Secretary Rev.Fr.Mathew Pallikunnel, Principal Dr. R Srikanth, Vice-Principal Shift – I Dr.G.Gayathry, Vice Principal Shift – II Dr.Shalini Maher, Convenor Mrs.K.Rajalakshmi, Co – Convenor Ms.P.Lavanya, Secretary MGCAA Mr.V.Sathish, and President Mr.M.Sujeeth Kumar. Prayer Song was done by our college choir and welcome dance performed by our alumni Mr.Rakesh and Ms.Shruthi. Mr.Sujeeth Kumar addressed the gathering. The MGCAA with great pleasure honored our management with a small token of love. MGC alumni award for the alumni who were invited as a resource person for various events were greatly honored. The journey of MGCAA was given by Mr Sathish, Secretary of MGCAA, Ms Priya, EC member gave an announcement regarding the HR forum that will be certainly beneficial for our students. Mr Jesvar announced regarding the entrepreneur forum. A lucky draw was organized for the alumnus to share their nostalgic memories at MGC and MGC alumni entrepreneurs were also given a small gift. Our MGC alumnus and college cultural team, dazzlers and sizzlers team gave a fabulous performance and entertained the audience. To have beautiful memories the photo session and video bytes was arranged and the alumni had a great time. Mr Sujeeth Kumar delivered the vote of thanks. The Alumni Association Committee thanked everyone for making it to the event and requested them to join all future events with the same gusto and involvement. Being an Alumni is not just a title, but a lifelong commitment to the growth and success of the institution. Alumni association serves as a bridge between alumni and current student. Students from various Batch made their presence to recollect their flourishing memories with friends.

Report on 8th ALUMNI MEET 2023 The Alumni Association of Mar Gregorios College of Arts and Science organized 8thALUMNI MEET 2023 atMar IvaniosHall on28th January 2023. The program began with the prayer song by the college choir followed by the Tamil Thai Vazhthu and College Anthem. The KuthuVillakku was lit byby Rev. Fr. Mathew Pallikunnel, PrincipalDr. M. Sivarajan, AluminiAssociation Chairman. Mr. E. Jaganathan,Alumni Association Secretary Mr. Sathish followed by Vice Principal Dr.G. Gayathry of Shift – I and Dr. Shalini Mehar of Shift – II. The welcome dance was performed by Ms. KaviyaHema of III B.com Corporate Serectaryship Shift – I. Rev. Fr. Mathew Pallikunnel showered the gathering with his blessings and prayers. He elaborated on the journey of MGC and thanked the Alumni for their valuable presence. He also encouraged the Alumni to CONNECT, COLLABORATEand CELEBRATE for the betterment of MGC. Welcome address was rendered by the Alumni Association president Mr. E. Jaganathan. The AlumniReunion inaugural address was delivered by Principal Dr. M. Sivarajan. He highlighted on the future prospects of the institution and also congratulated the Alumni for all their future endeavours. Prof. Ann HepzibaNiraja introduced the concept of MGC spare. She encouraged the alumni to spare their money, time and expertise. Alumni Mr.M. Sathish presented with the journey of the Alumni Association. He introduced the new office bearers of the Alumni Association. He also highlighted the upcoming events. Cultural events commenced with the dance performance by Dazzlers – MGC dance team followed by a singing performance by Sizzlers –MGC light music team. The college NSS team performed the traditional tamil folk art 'Parai' followed by Alumni dance performance by Mr. Ganesh, Mr. Shibin and Mr.Radha Krishnan. Vote of thanks was rendered by convenor Mrs.K.Raja Lakshmi. She thanked the organizers and Alumni office bearers for their supportand the management of Mar Gregorios College of Arts and Science for the guidance which has made 8thAlumni Meet 2023 a grand success. After which the alumni proceeded to the college ground. A total of 2 food stalls and 10 game stalls were arranged. The alumnae actively participated in the games and a group photo was clicked to create an everlasting memory. A total of around 460 students from both shift – I & II registered for the Alumni reunion.
MGC Alumni Cricket Report 27.8.2022
REPORT Our MGC Alumni Association organized a one day cricket tournament for our MGC Alumni Students. The tournament was conducted on 27th August 2022 at 8A.M in our MGC College Ground. Around 80 of our college alumnus from the batch of 1997 to 2022participated in the tournament. Our MGC is a place where students look forward to it as a platform for the alumni to reconnect and reminisce the days gone, meet their old friends and teachers. The college ground was set for the match. The alumni team put their best foot forward but the student team stood victorious after a tough match. It was a joyful time for the winning team with the air reverberating. After a long and exciting day, the event finally came to a close with alumni and students chit chatting, clicking numerous pictures to capture each moment. Valedictory Program was held at 5.30P.M for which Rev.Fr.Philip Pulipra, distributes the prizes to the winners. MSW students were the Champions of the tournament. Mr.Poovarasan was awarded the Man of the Series, Mr.Karthick, was awarded the best Batsman, Mr. Sundar was awarded with the Best Bowler, Mr.Pranish was awarded the best Fielder. The tournament united the Ex- students of Mar Gregorios College, bringing out the sportsmanship of the students.

MAR GREGORIOS COLLEGE OF ART AND SCIENCE ALUMINI ASSOCIATION (MGC) REPORT ON 7th ANNUAL ALUMNI MEET – 2022 MGC SUGAM -2022 DATE: 29 January 2022 The MGC Alumni Association organised a virtual alumni meet on the Zoom platform on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 at 3.00 pm. The alumni meet's motto was "connect, collaborate, and rejoice with alumni." The coordinators of the Alumni Association are Ms. Papitha, assistant professor, Department of Commerce, shift-I and Ms. Rajalakshimi, assistant professor, Department of Computer Applications, shift-II. The various alumni were invited to this alumni programme through personal email, WhatsApp, and also by personal messages and phone calls. The flyer about the programme was sent through WhatsApp and email. .Ms. Mariya Gloriya, Asst. Prof. Department of Commerce (computer application), Shift II, served as master of ceremonies. The programme started with the prayer song, followed by the Tamil Thai Vazhthu and the college anthem. The welcoming dance was performed by Ms. Preethi from the department of computer applications, shift I. The welcome address was given by Ms. Priya Eruthayaraj, Vice President, MGCAA, followed by blessings given by the Rev. Fr. Philip Pulipra, Secretary MGC, and he also addressed the aim of conducting the alumni meet. The programme was graced by the respected principal, Dr. M. Sivarajan, and he also shared his best wishes for the alumni meet program. The chief guest was introduced by Mr. Mohmad Arshad Ahamade, department of corporate secretaryship, shift I. The Presidential address was delivered by Mr. Bharath Shasthri, Vice President and Head of Data Science at HDFC Bank, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Mr. Bharath Shasthri expressed his gratitude and happiness for organising this event, and he said that the college and the management are always working for the development of the students. He also remembered the days he spent on the college campus with his friends, teachers, and the facilities in those days. He has requested the college management and the principal to insist the students, via their teachers, create a LinkedIn account to add their profile. It will help the students get a job offer from a corporate company. He also stated in his keynote address that students should follow their Passion, improve their communication skills, and learn about stock market investment opportunities. After the chief guest's speech, (MGC SUGAM) video bytes of some of the alumni students from the 1999 to 2021 batch screened on the programme. In the video bytes, some alumni expressed their views about the college and the alumni meeting. It was a wonderful experience where a few alumni shared their memories of what they had done during those days in college. Some of the teaching and non-teaching staff from MGC, renowned alumni, were present at the program. More than 60 alumni have participated in this virtual event. At the end, Precor MGC Prayer was done by the Rev. Fr. John Peter. After that, the feedback link was shared in the Zoom meeting. MGC alumni, staff, and students have actively cooperated and participated in the success of this wonderful, remarkable event. Finally, the vote of thanks was given by Mr. Satish, Executive Member, MGCAA, followed by the National Anthem.
ALUMNI OFFICE BEARERS 2021-2022
Report on MGC ALUMNI ASSOCIATION – Annual General Body Meeting for Selection of New Office Bearers An Annual General Body meeting was conducted on 23/04/2022 to select new office bearers for various positions of Alumni Association. The meeting started with a prayer by Prof. Mr. R. Leonard Solomon. Father explained the importance of conducting this meeting and gave the suggestions for the selection of Office Bearers. The following members were selected unanimously for Office Bearers President - Mr. E. Jeganathan Vice President - Mr. M. Sujeeth Kumar Secretary - Mr. M. Sathish Joint Secretary - Mr. S. Ranjith Newly elected Office Bearers shared their views. Mr. Sathish said that MGC Alumni Association has to be strengthened by admitting more Alumni, and EC members have to make sure that they attend all the meetings regularly. And also we should focus on the registration of our college Alumni students. Mr. Jegan thanked everyone for electing him and requested their full support for all the activities and the schedule of MGC so that they can plan for their contribution to the college. Mr. Sujeeth promised that he shall do his best with the support of MGC Alumni Association. Mr. Ranjith assured that he will cooperate with the EC members and give his full support to the college. Ms. Madhumitha said that she will work for the betterment and with the cooperation of everyone we shall move forward. Ms. Bhuvaneshwar said that his team is willing to give food for the needy and sought the permission to have the scheme called MID-DAY MEAL PLAN and requested the support from every one. All the members encouraged and appreciated the initiative taken. Father said that MGC is already conducting FIVE LOAVES PLAN and our MGC students are getting benefited by the plan. Ms. T. Papitha proposed the vote of thanks; she thanked all the members present for the meeting and congratulated the new Office Bearers. The session ended successfully with the Blessings of God.
REPORT ON MGC ALUMNI ASSOCIATION- ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING DATED: 12/03/2022
The MGC Alumni Association had conducted its first Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) on 12/03/2022. The meeting was conducted with the objective to pass the motion to elect slate of Executive Members. The meeting started with a prayer session by Rev.Fr.Dr. John Peter. Father prayed for the unity and prosperity of the Alumni Association. Blessings was given by our Secretary Rev.Fr.Philip Pulipra followed by father highlighting the importance of networking and staying connected. Father had also highlighted on how Alumni had played an instrumental role on helping students of MGC to be placed in reputed companies. Father also shared future projects on improving college infrastructure and quality of education. The prayer session was followed by Principal Dr.M.Sivarajan who had given the felicitation highlighting that Mar Gregorios College of Arts & Science is elevating to greater heights and the Alumni Association should work hand in hand with the College Administration and the students to accelerate this elevation process. The President of MGC Alumni Association Mr.Jony Brewatson shared information on how the Alumni Association had started and the challenges faced by the team on laying the foundation which involved efforts by all members. The Vice President Ms.Priya Irudhayaraj had projected the journey of the Alumni Association using Power Point Presentation highlighting different SRT programs conducted by the Association along with the action plan for the upcoming year. Asst.Prof.Mr.Balachander had passed the motion to elect slate of Executive Members. Sir had also explained the duties of Executive Members. Our Secretary Rev.Fr.PhilipPulipraofficially distributed the Nomination form to the nominees. Asst.Prof .Mr.Leonard Solomon had proposed the Vote of Thanks. This was followed by Alumni friends who shared their identity Rev.Fr.Dr.John Peter explained about the coupon for fund collection for Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
