The Student Resource Team (SRT) is a group of school specialists who meet on a regular basis and implement a systematic process, utilizing school and community resources to remove barriers to learning. The SRT can support students who are having problems in the following areas: (1) academic, (2) behavior, and (3) attendance and health. Teachers, school personnel, and parents can refer a student to SRT. However, SRT will only become involved with parent permission. Once permission is given, information and data is collected to better identify areas of concern. The team with then consider strategies as part of an intervention plan that will be monitored for a specified period of time, and will then reconvene to determine the progress. At this meeting, interventions may be adjusted or further information may be requested through an evaluation.
